Basketball Game Preview: Cross Stingrays vs. Concord Christian Lions

The Cross Stingrays and the Concord Christian Lions will round out the year against one another at at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Cross took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Charleston Collegiate with points to spare, taking the game 57-39. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Stingrays as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cross found their leader in sophomore Savannah Hollings, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hollings has scored all season. Alaysia Hollings was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Cross smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Concord Christian got the win against Halls on Friday by a conclusive 61-39.

Concord Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Cross, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.
