            Basketball Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Chaparral Firebirds        
        
		
        
        
            Horizon extended their  winning streak to three games  thanks to a huge performance from  Ethan Hayes. The Horizon Huskies came out on top against the Chaparral Firebirds by a score of  75-68  on Tuesday thanks in part to  Hayes, who  went 6 for 11  on his way to 20  points and eight  rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.

 The team also got some help courtesy of  Owen Brackmann, who  posted 11 points and eight  boards. That's the most  rebounds  he has posted since back in January of 2024.
Horizon is  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 13 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Chaparral, their loss was  their fourth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 5-16.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon will venture away from home to  square off against Mountain Pointe  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Horizon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Chaparral, they will head out on the road to  take on  Arizona College Prep  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Chaparral is facing Arizona College Prep at the right time seeing as Arizona College Prep is stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak.
