Baseball Recap: Vasquez's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Vasquez barely beat Faith Baptist the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Contenders 16-5 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon Jensen and Brandon Vasquez did most of the damage at the plate: Jensen went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and one run, while Vasquez went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Vasquez a new career-high. Zach Vanornum was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Vasquez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Baptist only managed one hit.

The victory (which was Vasquez's sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Faith Baptist, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vasquez beat the Contenders by a score of 13-6 on Wednesday.
