Baseball Game Preview: Eagle Pass Eagles vs. Alexander Bulldogs

The Eagle Pass Eagles will take on the Alexander Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eagle Pass 3.4, Alexander 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, Eagle Pass got the win against Laredo LBJ by a conclusive 13-5. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alexander, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Medina Valley get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday.

Alexander pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eagle Pass, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7-1 record this season.

Eagle Pass couldn't quite get it done against Alexander when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Eagle Pass avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
