Basketball Game Preview: Awaken Christian Lions vs. White Pine Bobcats

Awaken Christian and White Pine are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Awaken Christian Lions challenge the White Pine Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Awaken Christian will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Lake Mead Christian Academy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Awaken Christian was the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Lake Mead Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Ethan Kepler went supernova for Awaken Christian, going 12 of 16 on his way to 29 points and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Kepler a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Gavin Kepler, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points along with five boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, White Pine was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Adelson 64-25.

White Pine has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Awaken Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.
