After a string of four wins, Newton County Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lamar Christian Lions by a score of 6-5. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bryce Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Newton County Academy now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Lamar Christian, their record now sits at 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton County Academy will welcome Kemper Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lamar Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hattiesburg HomeSchool at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
