After a string of four wins, Central Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost to the Pitman Pride at home by a 68-51 margin. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Pride are ranked 113th).

Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Collin Benniger, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Amari Waterford, who scored 11 points.

Central Catholic now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Pitman, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Catholic will take on Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Catholic is facing Sierra at the right time seeing as Sierra is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Pitman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Modesto at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Pitman's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Modesto has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
