Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Central). They secured a 48-44 W over the New Prairie Cougars on Saturday. For the Satellites, this counts as revenge for the 74-53 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

South Central was led to victory by Samantha Marks and Lexi Johnson. Marks scored 13 points plus two steals and two blocks, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Marks is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bailey Futa, who had 12 points in addition to four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Trobaugh, who had seven points in addition to nine rebounds.

The win got South Central back to even at 2-2. As for New Prairie, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

South Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-28 loss against Knox on the 19th. As for New Prairie, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on South Bend St. Joseph at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
