Volleyball Recap: Darien Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Darien and Maloney squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Darien had to settle for second. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0.

Darien took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 25-20.

Thomas Herget paced Darien's offense, picking up ten kills. Herget got some help from Jack Wheeler and his 15 assists. Finally, William Sapione kept Darien's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Darien's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Maloney, they pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Darien does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maloney, they will face off against Trumbull at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
