 South Summit came into Tuesday's   match having lost 16 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  12-10  win over the Ben Lomond Scots  on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for South Summit considering their one-run performance the  game before.
  Wiley Crystall was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching four innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Crystall was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Hunter Bednarik, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  James Marshall, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4.
 On Ben Lomond's side,  Max Doss was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and a  triple.  Kai Langston was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 South Summit's victory  ended  an  18-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-19. As for Ben Lomond, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with that  defeat, which was their 11th straight  at home dating back to last season.
 South Summit will have a chance to go back-to-back against Ben Lomond: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday.
