Volleyball Recap: Myers Park Falls Despite Big Games from Barrett Lacouture and Lizzie Crawford

Myers Park lost against Hough last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Huskies.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Hough scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23.

Lizzie Crawford and Barrett Lacouture certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Crawford had 17 digs and two assists, while Lacouture had 13 assists and ten digs. Lacouture has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played. Harper Francis also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Myers Park's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Hough, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Myers Park will face off against Pinecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hough, they will take on South Mecklenburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
