            Softball Recap: Halifax Academy Vikings vs. Ridgecroft Rams        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for Halifax Academy, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. They came out on top against the Ridgecroft Rams by a score of  5-1  on Monday. The  victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won eight in a row.

 Payton Odom made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those  14  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Odom wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Teagan Hamill, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.  Emma Inscoe was another,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
The  win  got Halifax Academy back to even at 1-1.
 Halifax Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  match,  a  10-0  victory against Arendell Parrott Academy on the 6th. As for Ridgecroft, they will host Mattamuskeet  at 4:00  p.m.  on March 12th. Ridgecroft is coming into the  game on  a  five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
