Basketball Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

Sheldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the School of the Ozarks Patriots, falling 62-30. The Panthers lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 48-42 score last time.

School of the Ozarks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Timba Saffle, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 19 points and three steals. What's more, Saffle also posted a 78% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Josiah Martin, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for School of the Ozarks, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Coming up, Sheldon will venture away from home to take on Montrose/Ballard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for School of the Ozarks, they will face off against Chadwick at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
