Recap: Kirkwood Cobras vs. Rossview Hawks
It was a good run, but the Kirkwood Cobras unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Rossview by a score of 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rossview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameryn Ward, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Landon Hankemeier was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Kirkwood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Rossview, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Kirkwood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Greenwood will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Rossview will take on Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Rossview is ranked 53rd).
