Basketball Recap: Berwick Academy Takes a Loss

Berwick Academy lost against Beaver Country Day back in February of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Berwick Academy Bulldogs fell to the Beaver Country Day Beaver 48-44.

Despite the loss, Berwick Academy still got an impressive performance from Noah Daniel, who went 11 of 22 on his way to 26 points along with six boards and three steals. That was a full 59.1% of Berwick Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Brandon Ventura was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Berwick Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Berwick Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Beaver Country Day, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick Academy will face off against Bancroft at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaver Country Day, they will venture away from home to take on Brimmer & May at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
