            Volleyball Recap: Lake Weir Hurricanes vs. West Port Wolf Pack        
        
		
        
        
            Lake Weir lost against West Port back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. Lake Weir fell just short of West Port by a score of  3-2. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Lake Weir wouldn't go down easily and took West Port into a fifth set  but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20,  15-13.
 West Port found their leader in freshman  Luis Monserat, who  had 23  digs and five  aces. Monserat is  crushing it when it comes to  digs: he's   had at least 17 every time he's  taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was  Caden Perez-Pantoja, who  had ten  digs.
Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Port, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Looking ahead, Lake Weir will host Vanguard  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Lake Weir is facing Vanguard at the right time seeing as Vanguard is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for West Port, they will head out to  square off against Forest  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
