Softball Recap: Westville Has No Trouble Against Deer Creek-Mackinaw

After only two runs in their last contest, Westville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Deer Creek-Mackinaw on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Chiefs. Considering the Tigers have won 20 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Westville got a big performance out of Madison Jones, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits Jones has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyn Bennett, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Westville's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 25-5. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-10.

Westville has already played their next game, a 23-0 victory against Chrisman on the 12th. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will challenge El Paso-Gridley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
