Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Wildcats vs. Kanab Cowboys
Water Canyon lost against Kanab back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Water Canyon Wildcats were dealt an 84-44 defeat at the hands of the Kanab Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Cowboys are ranked 14th).

Water Canyon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joann Barlow, who posted 11 points along with five assists and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Barlow a new career-high in shooting accuracy (67%). Another player making a difference was Alysha Cooke, who put up nine points and five rebounds.
Rylee Little continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kanab, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Little's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Janes, who went 8 of 10 to rack up 16 points and four steals.
Water Canyon dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kanab, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Millard the next time they take the court. Kanab will head out to face Millard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Water Canyon will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
