Basketball Game Preview: Atascocita Eagles vs. King Panthers

The Atascocita Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the King Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Atascocita is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 63-31 victory over Goose Creek Memorial. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, King had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They breezed by the Falcons to the tune of 75-17. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Falcons are ranked 1302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

King is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Atascocita, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12.

Things could have been worse for Atascocita, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-28 loss to King in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Atascocita avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
