Softball Game Preview: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Pine View Panthers

Snow Canyon is a perfect 10-0 against Pine View since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Snow Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Snow Canyon will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Pine View on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 19-8 victory. Considering the Warriors have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Snow Canyon got a massive performance out of Alyssa Staheli, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave Staheli a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marianna Acuna, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

Snow Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pine View's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Snow Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Pine View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Snow Canyon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game.
