Basketball Recap: Bailey Curtis and Jacie Jensen Secure Win for Carbon

Carbon posted their closest victory since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Delta Rabbits by a score of 50-47 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but the Dinos were the better team in the second half.

Leading Carbon to victory were Jacie Jensen and Bailey Curtis. Jensen dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Curtis dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 boards. Those ten rebounds gave Jensen a new career-high. Sage Vea was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Carbon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Carbon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Delta, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbon will head out to square off against Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Delta, they will challenge North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Delta is facing North Sanpete at the right time seeing as North Sanpete is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
