Basketball Recap: Kennett Snaps 13-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a good run, but Kennett unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Twin Rivers Royals. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-42 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kennett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyce Edwards posted 20 points and four steals. Edwards has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 39 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayla Ellis, who had three points and ten rebounds.

Kennett's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7. As for Twin Rivers, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennett will host Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Kennett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. Twin Rivers has already played their next game (against Greenville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
