            Baseball Recap: Westview Wolverines vs. Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Westview played against Mater Dei Catholic on Saturday and won via forfeit.
 Joseph Arango-Manley was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Westview is undefeated when  Arango-Manley posts two or  more  stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ethan Holeman, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-5. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.  Nico Sidiropoulos also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.

The  win was  the fourth in a row for Westview, bringing their record up to 5-2. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Mater Dei Catholic,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 Westview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  10-2  win against San Dieguito Academy on the 25th. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they also  didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  7-5  defeat against La Jolla on the 24th.
