Hale extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Hale Cardinals vs. Meadville Eagles

The Hale Cardinals had lost three consecutive heartbreakers to the Meadville Eagles and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. Hale fell just short of Meadville by a score of 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Meadville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gauge Shiflett, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shiflett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Dennis, who scored 17 points along with three steals.

Hale's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Meadville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hale will take on Hardin-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Meadville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Grundy County/Newtown-Harris at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Meadville in Missouri (Grundy County/Newtown-Harris is ranked 148th, while Meadville is ranked 409th).
