While Corona put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Roosevelt. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Mustangs. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Jason Gerfers, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Roosevelt off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Billy Carlson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Trey Ebel, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Corona, bringing their record up to 24-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Corona will have a chance to go back-to-back against Roosevelt: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
