Poly was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They beat the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders by a goal, winning 2-1. This was payback for Poly, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ernest Walker and Jose Saucedo scored both of Poly's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Poly's record is now 8-2-1. As for Granada Hills Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poly will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grant at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Granada Hills Charter, they will be playing at home against Taft at 4:00 p.m. on January 7th. Taft's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
