Evangelical Christian waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the First Assembly Christian Crusaders with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Evangelical Christian got a great performance from Bennett Edwards as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Edwards a new career-high.

At the plate, Henry Crosby was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Banks Addison was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Evangelical Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Assembly Christian only posted an OBP of .286.

Evangelical Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for First Assembly Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16-1 record this season.

Evangelical Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against First Assembly Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
