Basketball Recap: Avoca Central Takes a Loss

If Avoca Central was feeling good fresh off their 55-25 takedown of Alfred-Almond last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Avoca Central Tigers received a blow on Thursday as they fell 67-52 to the Andover Panthers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.

Avoca Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Andover, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Avoca Central will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dundee at 7:15 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Andover also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Alfred-Almond at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Andover is facing Alfred-Almond at the right time seeing as Alfred-Almond is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
