Recap: West Orange Warriors vs. Winter Haven Blue Devils
After a string of four wins, the West Orange Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Winter Haven 70-31. While losing is never fun, West Orange can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Winter Haven is ranked tenth).
Winter Haven found their leader in underclassman Serenity Hardy, who scored 26 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Hardy has scored at least a third of Winter Haven's points. Another player making a difference was Dashanique Henry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
West Orange's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Winter Haven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
West Orange and Colonial will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Colonial will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak. Winter Haven does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
