Softball Recap: Mullen Falls Despite Strong Effort from Rayna Salazar

After flying high against Doherty last Thursday, Mullen came back down to earth. The Mullen Mustangs lost 14-4 to the Denver South Ravens on Saturday.

Rayna Salazar was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Stewart, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mullen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Denver South, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mullen will square off against Forge Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forge Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mullen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Denver South, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Eaglecrest at 4:00 p.m.
