Softball Game Preview: Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles vs. Mulberry Grove Aces

Brownstown/St. Elmo hasn't had much luck against Mulberry Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aces at 4:30 p.m. Brownstown/St. Elmo has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brownstown/St. Elmo is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 18-0 to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Mulberry Grove was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Staunton by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Aces have suffered since March 19th.

Lily Johnson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Mulberry Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
