Volleyball Recap: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Horizon Prep Lions
Mountain Empire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Horizon Prep Lions, falling 3-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Redhawks were not able to get on the board.
Mountain Empire was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Horizon Prep work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 28-26.
Andrew Sepulveda paced Mountain Empire's offense, picking up 12 kills. Sepulveda got some help from Oscar Plasencia and his 25 assists. David Oney controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Mountain Empire now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Horizon Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Coincidentally, Mountain Empire and Horizon Prep will both be playing Chula Vista Learning Community Charter the next time they take the court. Horizon Prep will host Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Mountain Empire will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
