Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Isabella

Isabella waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Maplesville Red Devils by a score of 8-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-7 last Thursday.

Colton Conway was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Josh Thomas was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Austin Porter was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Isabella's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Maplesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Isabella will take on Central of Coosa County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maplesville, they will square off against Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
