Baseball Recap: Tellico Plains Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Meigs County, Tellico Plains was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hiwassee Dam Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Daren McJunkin was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Dawson Edwards was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Tellico Plains now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hiwassee Dam, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-7-1 record this season.

Tellico Plains will head out to challenge Greenback at 6:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for Hiwassee Dam, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hayesville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hayesville has four straight wins, Hiwassee Dam has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
