Basketball Recap: Alana Rivers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Summit Academy over John Jay

Summit Academy lost against John Jay back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Summit Academy Eagles fell to the John Jay Wolves 39-33.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alana Rivers, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Rivers has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyla Lawrence, who had six points and five rebounds.

Summit Academy's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 14-1 and their overall record down to 20-9. As for John Jay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Summit Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. John Jay has already played their next game (against Somers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
