Softball Recap: Bangor Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Bangor had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Camden Hills Windjammers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in April.

Not much got past Emma Tripp, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Camden Hills off the board. Tripp has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bangor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Lynch, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Victoria Jarnich also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bangor is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Camden Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

Bangor will face off against Edward Little on Tuesday. The Red Eddies will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. Camden Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
