Volleyball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Takes a Loss

Coginchaug Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Valley Regional Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 10th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Addison Costa paced Coginchaug Regional's offense, picking up four kills. Costa got some help from Peyton Smolley and her 12 assists. Costa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Coginchaug Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Valley Regional, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Coginchaug Regional will face off against rival Cromwell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Valley Regional is set to take on their familiar foe Portland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
