Soccer Game Preview: Momence vs. Kankakee

Momence is 0-9 against Kankakee since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Momence Athletics will head out on the road to square off against the Kays at 4:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Momence is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Wilmington, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Kankakee was not quite Providence Catholic's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Celtics. Kankakee have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kankakee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Momence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Momence suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Kankakee in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Momence Athletics avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
