Flatirons Academy piles up the points against Rocky Mountain Lutheran

The Flatirons Academy Bison waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Rocky Mountain Lutheran 62-21 at home. Flatirons Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 32 points or more this season.

Flatirons Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Cox, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cox has scored at least a third of Flatirons Academy's points. Emily Dehaan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight assists and eight steals.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ginny Shade, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals. Shade is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rocky Mountain Lutheran struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Flatirons Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flatirons Academy will take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dayspring Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Denver Waldorf at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
