Soccer Recap: Orem Falls Short of Ridgeline in the Playoffs

Orem and Ridgeline squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Orem had to settle for second. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Riverhawks who were credited with the win. The Ridgeline Riverhawks got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Orem Tigers' two. Orem were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ridgeline apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Weston Warnick and Nephi Chumpitaz scored both of Orem's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Orem's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Ridgeline, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Orem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ridgeline, they will take on Dixie at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixie will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Ridgeline surely won't give up without a fight.
