The Garrett Memorial Christian Saints scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-52 win over New Life Christian Academy. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for 52 points.
It was another big night for Mikayla Fields, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Those 33 points set a new season-high mark for her. Laikyn Mitchell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Garrett Memorial Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.67 points. As for New Life Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garrett Memorial Christian will take on Cornerstone Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. New Life Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gospel Light Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th.
