After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rome Free Academy, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Canastota Red Raiders 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Red Raiders back in April, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Canastota, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill has already played their next match, a 13-1 defeat against New Hartford on the 16th. As for Canastota, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-8 loss against Phoenix on the 16th.
