Johnson-Brock had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Lincoln Christian Crusaders with a sharp 59-33 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on ten straight dating back to last season.

Johnson-Brock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Deacon Bernadt out in front who shot 58% from the field on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The last time Bernadt's field goal percentage was this high was back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Koehler, who posted 14 points.

Johnson-Brock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Lincoln Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Jackson Perkins and Jamison Thies. Perkins went 5-for-7 to rack up 11 points, while Thies put up five points.

Johnson-Brock has already played their next contest, a 72-49 victory against Palmyra on the 9th. As for Lincoln Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-42 win against Elmwood-Murdock on the 6th.
