Softball Recap: Cox's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cox won the last time they faced Landstown and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Eagles. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ella Athey-Stapleton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Athey-Stapleton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daisy Kriz, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Another was Chyann Obiedo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Cox's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Landstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

As of now, neither Cox nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
