Softball Recap: Western Boone Takes a Loss

Western Boone was the 7-1 winner over Lawrence North when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Stars took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Saturday.

Raina Lutz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Kenzlei Mathews was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Western Boone's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Lawrence North, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

While Western Boone had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
