Volleyball Game Preview: Baraboo Thunderbirds vs. Oregon Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Baraboo Thunderbirds and the Oregon Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Baraboo lost 3-0 to Milton on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Baraboo was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Oregon had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Golden Beavers by a score of 3-1.

Oregon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-20.

Baraboo better keep an eye on Devin Howard. She was instrumental in Oregon's win, getting 12 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Howard has posted since back in October of 2024.

Oregon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Oregon's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 15-18. As for Baraboo, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-18.

Baraboo beat Oregon 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. Do the Thunderbirds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
