Volleyball Recap: Jefferson-Morgan's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Jefferson-Morgan's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes by a score of 3-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Rockets as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

While Jefferson-Morgan might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Carmichaels scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 18-25, 25-21.

Kelsey Vessels paced Jefferson-Morgan's offense, picking up 11 kills. Vessels got some help from Mallory McManis and her 13 assists. Beautiful Medlen controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Jefferson-Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Carmichaels, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's still a better percentage than their 4-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Jefferson-Morgan will venture away from home to take on Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carmichaels, they will head out to square off against Mapletown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
