Soccer Game Preview: St. Ignatius vs. St. Charles

The St. Ignatius Wildcats will face off against the St. Charles Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

St. Ignatius is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Sunday. Their defense stepped up to hand Perrysburg a 1-0 shutout. St. Ignatius' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Meanwhile, St. Charles faced Centerville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Sunday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Elks by a score of 2-0. Two seems to be a good number for St. Charles as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

St. Ignatius' win bumped their record up to 17-0-2. As for St. Charles, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5-3.

Everything went St. Ignatius' way against St. Charles in their previous matchup back in September, as St. Ignatius made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
