Volleyball Recap: Jennings County Takes a Loss

Jennings County was the 3-1 winner over Shawe Memorial when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Hilltoppers on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Jennings County was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-23.

Shawe Memorial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Vaughn out in front who had 12 kills, five blocks, and two aces. Aiden Edmondson was another key player, getting four aces and one block.

Jennings County now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Shawe Memorial, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Jennings County will venture away from home to face off against Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shawe Memorial, they will head out to take on Scottsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
