With a playoff win on the line, Tupelo rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Clinton Arrows. The victory was familiar territory for the Golden Wave, who have now won three matches in a row.

South McCoy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Tanner Brannigan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayes Hooker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

Tupelo pushed their record up to 19-14 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clinton, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tupelo beat the Arrows by a score of 7-4 on Monday.
